Job summary

El Rio Health is seeking a Pharmacist Intern to join an interdisciplinary care team at a Tucson clinic. Under pharmacist supervision, you will help disburse medications, provide patient counseling, and support drug therapy management in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will coordinate with pharmacists and health care staff to ensure safe and effective medication use, while complying with Arizona Board of Pharmacy policies and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently attending an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Disburse medications and provide counseling and information to patients and staff.
• Counsel health care providers regarding drug interactions, indications, dosage and side effects.
• Under supervision, verify prescriptions and medications dispensed; ensure drug therapy appropriateness.
• Maintain HIPAA and corporate compliance; keep a clean, safe work environment.
