Job summary

AdventHealth in Castle Rock, Colorado, seeks a Pharmacy Technician in a PRN capacity to maintain all centralized and decentralized inventory, stock shelves, place orders, and ensure timely delivery to units. Responsibilities include restocking, handling code carts, and accurate charge sheets for each patient.

Education requires a High School Grad or equivalent, with current enrollment in a college of pharmacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in a college of pharmacy.
• 1+ years position-related experience preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications include: Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) required OR Pharmacy Intern (PSI) OR NHA/CPhT or PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains centralized and decentralized pharmacy inventory.
• Assesses par levels, stocks shelves, orders supplies, notifies buyer of stock shortages.
• Delivers products to units on time and replenishes drugs used during surgery and code carts.
• Completes charge sheets for each patient and handling of controlled substances with accuracy.
• Answers phones promptly and forwards calls appropriately; restocks boxes, kits, trays, and code cart trays.

Job Description:

Maintains all centralized and decentralized pharmacy inventory, including assessing par levels, stocking shelves, ordering supplies, and alerting the buyer to stock shortages. Makes and delivers products so that they arrive at the unit on time. Replenishes drugs used during surgery and code blue carts, and completes the appropriate charge sheet for each patient. Performs functions requested by pharmacists or pharmacy leadership in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned. Maintains a high level of accuracy and accountability in all controlled substance transactions. Answers the phone promptly and courteously, using experience and prioritization skills to forward calls appropriately. Restocks boxes, kits, trays, and code cart trays. Completes deliveries and refills functions quickly to minimize time spent out of the department. Assesses par levels and notifies department leadership and the pharmacy buyer of the need to resolve chronic stock-out situations.
