Job description

We specialize in serving patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and related challenges—patients who are often overlooked by traditional healthcare systems. We provide advanced pharmacy services and wraparound care that ensure patients can access and stay on complex medications. Job Overview

The Pharmacist-in-Charge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a pharmacy, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. This role involves leading and supervising pharmacy staff, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers. The Pharmacist-in-Charge is responsible for leading their team to successfully rollout company initiatives and ensure full compliance of all regulatory and compliance rules, laws, and company policies and procedures. This role also involves the responsibility of working with corporate partners and providers to ensure managing a profitable pharmacy, growing the revenue and controlling expenses.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
  • Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff
  • Implement strategic plans for clinical pharmacy services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
  • Ensure pharmacy is fully staffed to the needs of the business and company’s labor model by interviewing, hiring and training ancillary staff
  • Oversee budget management and resource allocation for their assigned location
  • Oversee and ensure successful implementation and execution of all pharmacy workflow and inventory management processes.
Clinical Services
  • Implement and monitor clinical pharmacy programs and services
  • Conduct medication reviews and provide recommendations to optimize therapeutic outcomes
  • Lead team effectively to ensure patient outcomes. Perform patient outreach and communicate with patients effectively to close gaps in their medication therapy.
Quality Improvement and Safety
  • Implement and ensure adherence to policies and procedures in regard to the safe and effective use of medications
  • Ensure patient safety by performing quality assurance of all prescriptions dispensed, including review and oversight of patient profiles.
  • Monitor and analyze medication use patterns, adverse drug events, and medication errors
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and efficacy
  • Educate staff on best practices in medication use and safety
Education and Training
  • Oversee the training and development of pharmacy staff and students, including orientation, continuing education, and professional development
  • Provide education and training to healthcare providers on pharmacotherapy and medication management
Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate with medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care
  • Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy and other departments within the organization
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes

  • Fully certified, and participate in the Pharmacist Injection/Vaccination Program
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve goals
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s in pharmacy or related degree; Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing in practicing state
  • Board certification in a relevant pharmacy specialty (e.g., BCPS, BCACP) preferred
Working Conditions
  • Full-time position, typically requiring 40+ hours per week
  • Work is performed in a healthcare setting
  • May require occasional travel for conferences, meetings, and professional development
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed
