Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Pharmacist-in-Charge to run a closed door specialty pharmacy within an oncology clinic located in Lufkin, TX. You will help ensure compliance, oversee daily operations, and collaborate with clinics to enhance patient access and safety.

We are highly flexible to individuals with minimal to no specialty pharmacy experience or PIC experience as we are willing to invest in/train you to operate in this role.

Qualifications

• Active TX pharmacist license is required.
• 1+ year of retail or specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
• PharmD or equivalent degree required.
• Strong knowledge of specialty oncology medications is essential.
• Prior PIC experience is preferred.
• Experience with benefits investigation, prior auths, and financial assistance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations (DEA, Board of Pharmacy, etc.).
• Serve as PIC, managing licensure, inspections, and controlled substances.
• Oversee dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and clinical protocols.
• Lead audits, maintain records, and respond to regulatory bodies.
• Supervise and train pharmacy staff.
• Collaborate with providers to optimize medication access and formulary use.
• Manage inventory, including temperature-sensitive drugs and recalls.
• Support strategic growth and value-based care initiatives.
• Act as clinical expert for counseling, substitutions, and authorizations.
• Own pharmacy workflow from intake to dispensing.

You will help ensure compliance, oversee daily operations, and collaborate with clinics to enhance patient access and safety. We are highly flexible to individuals with minimal to no specialty pharmacy experience or PIC experience as we are willing to invest in/train you to operate in this role. This role is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with no nights and no weekends!

Skills and Requirements

• Active pharmacist license in TX
• 1+ Retail or Specialty pharmacy experience (they have an extensive training program in place)
• Comfortable working onsite Monday-Friday in Lufkin, TX
• PharmD or equivalent degree
• Strong knowledge of specialty oncology medications
• Prior PIC experience
• Experience with benefits investigation, prior auths, and financial assistance
