The University of Arkansas seeks a PRN Pharmacist to deliver clinical pharmacy services in a collaborative healthcare environment. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy plus 1 year of experience working as a pharmacist (or pharmacy intern) in a retail or hospital setting
Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligible for licensure by the State of Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D.
1 year of applicable pharmacy experience

Responsibilities:
Reviews and interprets prescribers' orders and detects appropriateness of therapy.
Prepares and dispenses medications.
Prepares sterile admixtures using proper aseptic technique.
Prepares chemotherapy according to departmental policies and procedures.
Answers client questions regarding prescription renewal, dosage, and side effects.
Serves as a primary or co-preceptor for rotational students.
Provides formal, in-depth training for students and new staff.
Assists with the development of educational materials and in-service training for staff development.
Directs, advises and instructs staff in the assigned area in all job duties and functions.
Assists leadership in all aspects of pharmacy operations in the area of assigned responsibility.
Serves as a liaison between the pharmacy service line and the assigned practice area.
Promotes a safe working environment by adhering to the UAMS patient safety plan.
Ensures equipment and facilities are used, calibrated, and maintained properly.
Initiate, adjust, and monitor pharmacokinetically-dosed medications (e.g., vancomycin, aminoglycosides, warfarin).
Utilize hospital protocols and evidence-based guidelines to recommend and adjust doses.
Interpret serum drug concentrations and lab data to optimize therapy.
Communicate recommendations effectively to providers and document interventions appropriately.
Fulfills other duties as assigned.
