SpecialtyRx, Inc. is hiring a licensed Pharmacist for our new closed-door LTC location in Cook County, Illinois. The role focuses on evaluating orders, ensuring accurate dispensing, and advising on therapy changes within a growing LTC pharmacy organization.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in Illinois required.
• Long-Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
• Hospital, retail pharmacy, or related healthcare settings experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Framework/ECM software knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure medications are accurately dispensed and labeled.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
• Maintain customer databases including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related inquiries.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team regarding medication-related concerns.
• Supervise medication preparation and dispensing processes.
• Maintain controlled substance records for legal and inventory purposes.
• Ensure proper medication storage and security standards are maintained.
• Perform on-call duties when required.
