Job summary

Kittitas Valley Healthcare is seeking a staff pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services to hospital inpatients and the retail pharmacy. You will work closely with other health care providers to ensure safe medication practices and positive patient outcomes.

The KVH Hospice retail prescriptions are filled under a collaborative practice agreement with our Hospice Medical Director. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and a current Washington State license, with

  • Pharmacist with a Bachelor’s Degree and active WA state license.
  • Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinetry.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide progressive and comprehensive pharmaceutical services to hospital patients and the hospital's retail pharmacy.
  • Collaborate with other health care providers to ensure positive patient outcomes through safe medication practices.
  • Fill prescriptions for KVH Hospice retail pharmacy under a collaborative practice agreement with the Hospice Medical Director using approved algorithms.

Job Description

The staff pharmacist will be responsible for the provision of progressive and comprehensive pharmaceutical services to the hospital patients and the retail pharmacy. The staff pharmacist will work closely with other health care providers to ensure positive patient outcomes associated with safe medication practices. The retail pharmacy fills prescriptions for KVH Hospice under a collaborative practice agreement with our Hospice Medical Director utilizing algorithms approved by the Board of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

What is required...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
  • Current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Washington
  • Familiarity with Automated Dispensing Cabinetry (ex. Pyxis)
  • Current CPR card (maintenance required)
  • Current PALS card (maintenance required)
What Is Preferred
  • Two years’ work experience in a hospital setting
  • Amerisource Bergen, Cerner experience
  • CPOE, Emar, Rx Informatics experience
  • Bar Code at the Bedside experience
  • Retail Pharmacy Experience
  • Knowledge of the 340B Program
  • Prior experience with Hospice protocols and guidelines
Additional Information
  • Wage: Wage range currently starts at $61.21/hour and goes up to $92.78/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.
  • FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week)
  • Benefits: This position is benefits eligible
