Job summary

Red Rock Pharmacy, a Meridian-based compounding pharmacy, is hiring Pharmacists for full-time, part-time, and PRN roles. The pharmacist will prepare customized medications, perform sterile and non-sterile compounding, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with prescribers and patients.

Ideal candidates hold an active Idaho pharmacist license, have attention to detail, and possess strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • Active Idaho pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Previous compounding experience preferred (but not required), including sterile and/or non-sterile compounding
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy compounding regulations and standards
  • Familiarity with USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a pharmacy team
  • Professional, dependable, and adaptable approach to pharmacy practice

Responsibilities

  • Compounding & Medication Preparation: Prepare, compound, and formulate customized medications based on patient-specific prescriptions and requirements.
  • Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounding: Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding, including injections, ophthalmic preparations, topical formulations, capsules, and other customized dosage forms, while following established procedures and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform and document appropriate quality checks, calculations, ingredient verification, and final product inspections to ensure the safety, accuracy, and quality of compounded medications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all compounding activities comply with applicable USP standards, including USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800>, as well as FDA, DEA, and Utah Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  • Clinical Consultation: Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare providers to develop appropriate customized therapies and provide professional consultation regarding compounded medications.
  • Patient Communication: Communicate with patients and healthcare providers regarding prescriptions, medication use, potential concerns, and customized treatment options.
  • Technician Supervision: Supervise and provide direction to pharmacy technicians involved in compounding and pharmacy operations, ensuring proper procedures, accuracy, and patient safety.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate compounding records, formulas, logs, and other required documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Assist with general pharmacy operations and contribute to a clean, organized, efficient, and professional compounding environment

Pharmacist

Red Rock Pharmacy is a fast-growing compounding pharmacy located in Meridian, Idaho, specializing in customized medication solutions for patients and healthcare providers. We are currently seeking Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN Pharmacists to join our growing team.

Specific Pharmacist Duties
