Price Chopper is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to oversee the dispensing of medications, while ensuring all operations comply with regulatory standards. The role involves patient counseling and working collaboratively with healthcare providers.
The ideal candidate holds at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, possesses a valid pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, and has strong leadership and communication skills. This position offers a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered care.
Administers a process of dispensing of medication to patients pursuant to a valid prescription with the highest attention to accuracy and patient education. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy department. Communicates with prescribers and offers counseling and assistance to patients with their health care concerns. Participates in patient centered services such as immunizations and MTM (Medication Therapy Management). Provides friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers.
Complies with all applicable federal, state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, including maintenance of necessary records, accurate third party adjudication and patient charges, and inventory management.
Counsels patients and medical providers regarding the nature and use of drugs, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects, as well as monitors the health and progress of patients to ensure compliance and to optimize therapies.
Participates in patient centered services including immunization, MTM, and wellness programs.
Supervises personnel in the daily operation of the pharmacy department and holds them accountable for complying with regulatory and company policies.
Provides guidance and training to pharmacy interns, technicians, and pharmacy associates during the course of work and monitors performance.
Uses professional judgment in providing exemplary service within the pharmacist’s scope of practice.
Participates in business development activities in the store and community.
Participates in continuous quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety.
Maintains a neat, clean, and organized workstation at all times. Maintains department facilities consistent with legal and company standards.
Completes required continuing education programs as required by state law.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
5 year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy
Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice
Immunization Certification
