Summary

Administers a process of dispensing medication to patients pursuant to a valid prescription with the highest attention to accuracy and patient education. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy department. Communicates with prescribers and offers counseling and assistance to patients with their health care concerns. Participates in patient‑centered services such as immunizations and medication therapy management. Provides friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complies with all applicable federal and state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, including maintenance of records, accurate third‑party adjudication and patient charges, and inventory management.
• Counsels patients and medical providers regarding the nature and use of drugs, dosage, drug interactions, side effects, and monitors patients to ensure compliance and optimize therapies.
• Participates in patient‑centered services including immunization, medication therapy management, and wellness programs.
• Supervises personnel in the daily operation of the pharmacy department and holds them accountable for regulatory compliance.
• Provides guidance and training to pharmacy interns, technicians, and associates, and monitors performance.
• Uses professional judgment in providing exemplary service within the pharmacist’s scope of practice.
• Participates in business development activities for the store and community.
• Engages in continuous quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and organized workstation and keeps department facilities consistent with legal and company standards.
• Completes required continuing education programs as mandated by state law.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Pay Range

$50.00 – $72.00

Minimum Qualifications

• 5‑year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy
• Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice
• Immunization Certification
• Ability to communicate effectively: verbal, written, and electronic
