GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role involves optimizing patient care through safe, rational, and cost-effective pharmaceutical practices, including drug dispensing, intravenous admixture, and providing drug information. The pharmacist conducts drug therapy monitoring, implements interventions to reduce adverse events, and oversees pharmacy support staff.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Process prescriptions: Conduct prospective drug reviews, assess medication prescriptions, ensure safe and appropriate therapies, and resolve drug-related issues. (20%)
2. Drug Information and Patient Interventions: Provide accurate drug information, document interventions, and collaborate with healthcare teams. (20%)
3. Assist in Department Management: Supervise pharmacy staff, oversee inventory, and ensure compliance with regulations. (20%)
4. Work Environment: Maintain department operations, including computer functions and cleanliness. (20%)
5. Safety: Participate in quality improvement and compliance, promote safety, and perform duties courteously and efficiently. (20%)
6. Night Pharmacist Responsibilities: Manage nightly operations, resolve medication issues, and troubleshoot IT and automation problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
