Job summary

Home Life Healthcare Corp. is seeking a licensed pharmacist to dispense prescriptions and oversee day-to-day operations in a pharmacy setting.

You will ensure adherence to HealthDirect standards, perform QA checks, and manage third-party billing while maintaining high customer service and compliance with regulations. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, a commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid State Pharmacy license and current registration.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
• Successful completion of pre-employment and/or random drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescriptions following HealthDirect Standard of Practice.
• Perform quality assurance steps to ensure accurate prescriptions; report incidents promptly.
• Comply with State and Federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.
• Oversee submission, resubmission, and collection of third-party claims.
• Manage and balance pharmacy inventory for optimal turns and in-stock status.
• Maintain prescription files and manual records per guidelines.
• Ensure outstanding customer service is provided by all employees.
• Enforce loss prevention policies and report deviations.
• Maintain a clean, professional pharmacy environment.
• Develop professional relationships with doctors and health professionals.
• Stay aware of developments in Pharmacy and Health Care fields and integrate them.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Facilitate communication between staff and pharmacy personnel.
• Work on-call as applicable.
• Collaborate with Facility Manager on hiring, reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Perform MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, discharge delivery, and other clinical functions.
• Assist in meeting budgetary sales guidelines and operate within budget.
• Interface with auditors and outside agencies as needed.
• Complete mandatory regulatory training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Duties:

• Follows the HealthDirect Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions
• Performs all quality assurance steps to insure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed. Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines
• Follows all State and Federal regulations governing the practice of Pharmacy
• Oversees the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims
• Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to ensure maximum turns while remaining in-stock for customer needs.
• Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines
• Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees always
• Insure all loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss Prevention
• Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to insure a clean and professional environment
• Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions
• Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information
• Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
• Work on-call schedule, where applicable
• Interacts with Facility Manager in the appropriate completion of hiring practices, performance reviews and disciplinary actions of pharmacy department personnel.
• Perform MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, delivery at discharge, and other clinical functions to support consultant pharmacists and maintain compliance at customer locations.
• Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines
• Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed
• Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy
• Ability to stand/walk throughout majority of shift
• Successful completion of a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test
