Job summary

Pacer Group in California is seeking a Pharmacist 3 to provide drug information expertise within the Pharmacy Services and Health Care Services teams. This remote position supports formulary management, prior authorization, and drug utilization reviews for quality and cost efficiency.

You will supervise staff, lead cost-reduction initiatives, and coordinate with pharmacists on contracts, program implementation, and claims issues.

Qualifications

• Requires California Pharmacist license.
• PharmD degree with clinical pharmacy experience.
• Extensive clinical pharmacy and managed care administration experience.
• Experience in a combination of functional and supervisory capacity.
• 5-7 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for clinical drug use for team members.
• Manage staff relationships with pharmacies and networks to boost provider participation.
• Develop and manage cost-reduction programs.
• Promote pharmacy participation to strengthen company marketplace position.
• Manage relationships with pharmacists for contract interpretation, program implementation, and claims.
• Develop new pharmaceutical programs to provide quality service and cost savings.
• Provide pharmaceutical expertise for evaluating and implementing programs.
• Oversee department activities and set goals aligned with corporate objectives.
• Monitor progress and report on project milestones and outcomes.
• Provide training and guidance to team members; manage performance expectations.
• Provide technical support to less experienced staff.

Title: Pharmacist 3

Location- Remote in California

Duration- 3+ months (Assignment on W2)
Time- 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Summary

The main function of a Pharmacist is to provide drug information expertise for the Pharmacy Services Department and Health Care Services. Supports the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, drug formulary management, drug prior authorization program, drug utilization review and physician reportinprograms.

Job Responsibilities

• Serves as resource for team members regarding the clinical use of drugs.
• Manages activities of staff engaged in development and maintenance of good working relationships with pharmacies and to increase provider participation in programs and networks.
• Develops new and manages existing cost reduction programs.
• Promotes Pharmacy participation in programs to increase and enhance company's competitive position in the marketplace.
• Manages relationships between company and pharmacists to resolve questions or problems in contract interpretation, program implantation or claims administration.
• Develops new and enhanced pharmaceutical programs to provide quality service to members and promote cost savings.
• Provides pharmaceutical expertise for evaluating and implementing programs; provides professional information to all internal departments as needed.
• Manages department activities. Establishes department goals and action plans to support corporate objectives.
• Monitors and reports on progress in completing projects and accomplishing goals.
• Provides developmental and training opportunities for team members; monitors on-going performance; communicates expectations and results on a regular basis; communicates changes in guidelines, policies, procedures, and other related matters.
• Provides technical support and guidance to less experienced team members.
• Oversees research activities and evaluates findings. Resolves complex issues and problems as needed.
• Prepares annual operating budget and monitors costs to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
• Directly supervises employees, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
