About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join a growing long-term care pharmacy team in Appleton, Wisconsin. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a strong support staff while playing a key role in medication safety, clinical oversight, and patient care. Responsibilities

• Perform Product Verification 1 (Order Entry Review) to ensure all medication orders accurately reflect prescriber intent.
• Complete Product Verification 2 (Final Verification) prior to dispensing, maintaining the highest standards of medication safety and accuracy.
• Rotate between PV1 and PV2 responsibilities based on operational needs and workflow demands.

Clinical Consultation

• Serve as the primary clinical resource for facility nursing staff.
• Address clinical escalations, including medication order clarifications, drug utilization reviews, and contingency pull code requests.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians who triage incoming calls and route clinical matters appropriately.

Operational Support

• Partner with a highly skilled pharmacy team, including Order Entry Technicians and Dispensing Technicians, to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Support workflow management and contribute to maintaining exceptional service levels for facility partners.

Emergency & On-Call Support

• Participate in an on-call rotation to support facility partners outside of normal business hours.
• Coordinate with triage services to address urgent clinical concerns.
• Report onsite only when critical situations require pharmacist intervention, such as IV preparation or controlled substance needs.

Qualifications

Required

• Active and unrestricted Wisconsin Pharmacist License

Preferred

• Previous pharmacist experience preferred, but not required
• New pharmacy graduates are encouraged to apply

Schedule

• Rotating shifts between 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Saturday shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Expect approximately one closing shift per week (example: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
• Work one Saturday shift and Sunday on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks
• Pharmacy is closed on Sundays; pharmacists participate in an on-call rotation for clinical support
