Job description

A-Line Staffing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist. This role offers career growth, a supportive work environment, and full-time hours (40+ per week).

PHARMACIST | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

Location: Washington NC 27889 – 100% on-site. Payrate: $65.75/hr. Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. Occasional Saturdays: Rotating schedule shared with the full-time pharmacy team.

PHARMACIST | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Pharmacist will join a pharmacy team in an onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity. The Pharmacist will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients, maintaining pharmacy records, supporting medication safety, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs. Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance. A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.

PHARMACIST | RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and potential medication overuse.
  • Ensure medications are dispensed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients regarding medications, including proper use, potential reactions, and questions.
  • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including: Dosage, Storage, Side effects, Drug interactions
  • Provide patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal and external use.
  • Prepare sterile solutions following appropriate procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify medication-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and established procedures.
PHARMACIST | REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
  • Active pharmacist license through the applicable state pharmacy board required.
  • Strong medication knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented pharmacy environment.
