Job summary

CHAS Health is seeking a Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care across our community clinics and pharmacy services. The role includes reviewing prescriptions, counseling patients, and working with the care team to optimize medication outcomes.

Required are a Rph or PharmD and active licensure in Washington and/or Idaho, with CPR/BLS certification. The role offers comprehensive benefits, opportunities for professional development, and a commitment to vulnerable populations within a nonprofit

Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist with WA/ID licensure required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Non-profit/pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review prescriptions and prepare medications for dispensing.
  • Counsel patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
  • Directs pharmacy technicians, assistants, and interns.
  • Assist patients with insurance and patient assistance options.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and inventory controls.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range: $107,300.00 - $162,301.00

Job Description

Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing pharmaceutical care in the following ways:

  • Reviews prescriptions and prepares medications for dispensing.
  • Counsels’ patients on medication drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Reviews and authorizes prescriptions with delegated prescriptive authority under state approved Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements.
  • Aids in helping patients obtain insurance/patient assistance options.
  • Acts as a part of the care team providing consultation for specific disease states.
  • Maintains established procedures of quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and HIPAA.
  • Directs pharmacy technicians, assistants, and interns.
  • Accesses computer for data entry, pharmacy files, patient charts, and inventory.
  • Utilizes innovative technology with electronic health records and Parata.
  • Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: Rph or PharmD from accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current valid licensure in the state of Washington and/or Idaho required.
  • Prior non-profit experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • BLS (CPR/AED) required.
  • Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.
Physical Demands

Pharmacists must be able to move around the facility between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the day, while sitting at a workstation occurs under 1/3rd of the day. Using hands and reaching with arms occurs over 2/3rds of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3rds of the day, while climbing, stooping or crawling is minimal. Lifting up to 10 lbs occurs occasionally, while 25-50 lbs occurs infrequently. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
