Job summary

Intensive Specialty Hospital is a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility in Louisiana seeking a Pharmacist to join our team. The pharmacist will fill and dispense medication orders, handle storage and usage, and manage supplies for all patient care areas within the hospital pharmacy.

The role requires licensing, 1–3 years hospital experience, and strong English communication. We provide a full benefits package and a supportive multidisciplinary team in a LTAC environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited school.
• Must hold a current state license.
• One to three years of pharmacy experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital preferred.
• Basic computer skills with minimal guidance.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Filling and dispensing medication orders and ensuring proper handling, usage, and storage.
• Ordering and supplying necessary drugs to all patient care areas and maintaining pharmacy supplies.
• Serving as an information resource to patients and healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and literature; organizing work schedules.

We provide cardiopulmonary care, ventilator and respiratory care, complex wound care, rehabilitation therapies, addiction medicine program, geriatric psychiatry program, multidisciplinary pain program, and outpatient counseling program. The Pharmacist is responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication order including the proper handling ,usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. He/she is responsible for ordering, supplying, and maintaining necessary supplies of drugs to all patient care areas, maintaining standards set by the department, translating policies, and procedures in the daily operation of the pharmacy, acting as an information resource to patients, physician, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature, as well as plans and organizes work schedule of supportive personnel and pharmacists, as required.
