About the Position

Our ODMHSAS central pharmacy, based at Griffin Memorial Hospital and servicing multiple metro locations, is looking for a full‑time Pharmacist to perform professional level work in filling and dispensing prescriptions. There is potential for a clinical emphasis.

Responsibilities
  • Dispensing drugs, medications, narcotics, and other pharmaceutical supplies requisitioned by doctors, maintaining prescription files.
  • Periodically visiting wards to ensure emergency stock supplies are adequately stored and replenished; checking patient charts for potential overdoses, drug interactions, side effects, and proper paperwork; and making reports accordingly.
  • Rejecting prescriptions containing dosage that must not exceed limits; consulting with the physician to revise prescriptions; mandatory physician release on overdoses.
  • Keeping abreast of current developments and literature; advising physicians on available drugs and alternate therapies.
Job Type & Salary
  • Full‑time

Typical pharmacy hours:

  • Weekdays: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Weekends & Holidays: 6:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Rotating schedule hours subject to change – not all weekends and holidays mandatory. Currently planned to work every 4th weekend.
  • Annual Salary: $110,000.00

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Must possess a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Oklahoma.

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, serves all 77 counties in the state, and operates as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. GMH is a 120‑bed acute psychiatric hospital that provides in‑patient care for individuals aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and substance abuse services.

Drug & Alcohol Pre‑employment Testing

Upon the conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety‑sensitive positions must submit to a urinalysis test for drugs. Appointment to a safety‑sensitive position is contingent upon a negative drug test result.

Agency Coverage & Work Hours

Agency requires coverage 24 hours, 7 days per week. Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
