Job summary

ERP International is seeking a Pharmacist for a full-time position at Maxwell AFB, AL, to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services and patient counseling within the facility's capabilities.

The role requires a ACPE-accredited degree, active Pharmacist license, and recent outpatient experience. Candidates must pass a government background check and hold a valid BLS certification. On-site work schedule is Monday–Friday with standard hours.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• 12 months of full-time outpatient or community pharmacist experience within the past 36 months.
• Current, active and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist.
• ARC or AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification in effect.
• Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
• Evidence of current practice within past 2 years with references and verified privilege lists for DHA facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of pharmacist procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within facility capabilities.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use and review dispensing profiles for therapy safety.
• Ensure appropriate prescription directions, dosing, interactions, allergies, and age-specific considerations; intervene when needed.
• Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared by staff.
• Supervise inventory control and security of pharmaceuticals, including scheduled drugs.
• Maintain records for scheduled controlled substances per regulations.
• Document significant drug interactions and prescriber communications.
• Lead and coordinate pharmacy workflow and maintain timely, accurate operations.

Responsibilities

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9 hours between 7:00am and 5:00pm, including a one hour lunch

Core Duties

• The Pharmacist will perform a wide range of pharmacist procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.
• Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications. Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing to closely monitor medication therapy.
• The Pharmacists will ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancy of above listed items.
• Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
• Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security.
• Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulation.
• Document significant medication interactions, and pharmacy interactions with Prescribers.
• Conduct Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting and patient safety reports IAW The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
• Facilitate medical staff drug utilization reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary.
• Pharmacists will be present and available to lead and coordinate pharmacy workflow.
• The Pharmacist will perform all duties at an acceptable speed and accuracy standard as established and deemed appropriate by the work center supervisor.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and self-initiation in accomplishing the pharmacy mission.

Minimum Qualifications

• * Degree/Education: Bachelor's or Doctoral degree in pharmacy from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• * Experience: Minimum of 12 months full-time experience in outpatient or community as pharmacist within the past 36 months.
• * Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist.
• * Life Support Certification: Possess current ARC or AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• * Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
• **Providers seeking clinical privileges through a DHA facility must have evidence of current clinical practice and must have actively practiced in their discipline within the past 2 years. This documentation must include professional references and verified privilege lists.
