Job summary

Specialty Rx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy serving long term care facilities and assisted living communities. We are seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our team and uphold our commitment to personalized care and high-quality pharmacy services.

The role involves evaluating orders, ensuring correct dispensing, communicating with care teams, and supervising preparation of medications. Active PA licensure is required; Maryland licensure is a plus; LTC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist with PA Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Active Pharmacist with Maryland Board of Pharmacy is a plus.
• Prior long-term care experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Must multitask and be reliable.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Frameworks LTC system, PLUS.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions and administration.
• Ensure medicines are dispensed with correct supply and labeling.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians and the care team regarding medication questions.
• Supervise preparation of medicines.

License Pharmacist Responsibilities:

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure that dispense medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Communicate with facilities nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members in regard to medication-related query.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.

License Pharmacist Requirements:

• Active Pharmacist with PA Board of Pharmacy a must.
• Active Pharmacist with Maryland Board of Pharmacy, a plus.
• Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
