Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist (RPh) to join our team at Family pharmacy Services Pharmacy. As a pharmacist, you will receive incoming prescriptions, review them for accuracy, and fill them with the correct medicine and dose. You will also talk with customers to help them understand their medications and possible side effects, advise them on medication storage, and maintain a safe, clean work environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices.
Responsibilities
- Dispensing prescriptions, compounding, and selling pharmaceuticals, medicines and related drug items on behalf of the Company.
- Maintain records of all purchases and dispensing of prescription‑required drugs, including controlled substance requirements.
- Medication management and ensuring appropriate handling and safety.
- Remove misbranded, adulterated, outdated, or improperly labeled drugs from stock.
- Ensure proper storage of drugs to prevent loss or deterioration.
- Guarantee pharmacy coverage by licensed pharmacists.
- Prevent unauthorized refills of prescriptions and unauthorized sale of controlled drugs.
- Monitor security of the pharmacy’s dispensing and compounding area.
- Provide patient support and education, maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Perform any and all tasks appropriate for a licensed professional in this field.
- Maintain license status and continuing education credentials.
- Ensure that no prescription‑required drugs or devices are sold wholesale unless the pharmacy has a New York State Board of Pharmacy wholesaler registration.
- Confirm that the pharmacy is properly registered and operating in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Issue verbal and written notices to employees and subordinates concerning laws, rules and regulations related to proper pharmacy practice.
- Oversee all day‑to‑day functions of the pharmacy, including staffing, safety, and maintenance, while complying with mandatory local, state, and federal regulations.
- Employees are classified as exempt; schedules are written in two‑week increments and may fluctuate to accommodate staffing and days off for an extended period.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current state pharmacist license or degree.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
- A Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) with immunization certification, preferred but not required.
Schedule
- Monday‑Friday
- Part Time
- 20‑30 hours weekly
Pay Rate
- Bi‑Weekly
- $55‑60 hourly (based on experience)
