Job summary

Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications and monitor patient medication use.
• Ensure medicines supplied comply with applicable laws and are suitable for patients.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files accurately.
• Educate patients on medicines, dosing, reactions, and interactions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications and devices.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks; manage inventory.
• Prepare sterile solutions and compound medications as required.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists to resolve drug-related problems.

WEEKLY TRAVEL PAY PACKAGE (resides out of 50+ miles)

Weekly Tax Free Stipend to be paid: $1,274.00

Job Description:

THIS NEEDS TO BE FROM A SUPPLIER THAT IS ABLE TO HAVE A CONTINGENT START!!

Accept and dispense prescription medications. Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns. Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law. Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable. Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files. Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions. Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters. Compound medications for external or internal use. Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc. Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Identify patient?s drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners. Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc. Doctor of Pharmacy degree required. Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
