Job summary

RXinsider LTD. is seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacist for a full-time, 13-week contract based in Dubuque, Iowa. The pharmacist will float between several pharmacy locations throughout the surrounding area, supporting both high-volume and rural retail settings.

Dubuque will be the primary base, with assignments to Dubuque, Bellevue, Monticello, Preston, and Independence, IA. Schedule includes Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday coverage; hours typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa Pharmacist license required.
• Temporary Iowa pharmacist license accepted.
• Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience.
• Comfortable in a high-volume retail setting.
• Willingness to travel between assigned Iowa locations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications while ensuring safe and efficient service to patients.
• Counsel patients on medications, proper use, interactions, and treatment regimens.
• Respond professionally to patient questions, concerns, and complaints.
• Maintain medication inventory and controlled substance records.
• Assist with inventory management and stock maintenance.
• Resolve prescription and patient-related issues.
• Clarify third-party insurance and coverage concerns.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies and regulations.
• Adapt to varying prescription volumes across locations.

Term of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start: ASAP

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturday coverage as needed

• Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturday Hours: Half-day shifts when required

The pharmacist will primarily be based in Dubuque and may float to:

• Dubuque, IA
• Bellevue, IA – approximately 30 minutes from Dubuque
• Monticello, IA – approximately 40 minutes from Dubuque
• Preston, IA – approximately 50 minutes from Dubuque
• Independence, IA – approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Dubuque

Pharmacy Environment

Dubuque is the busiest location, filling approximately 2,800–3,000 prescriptions per week. The surrounding rural locations average approximately 600 prescriptions per week.

Job Duties

Requirements

• Clear and active Iowa Pharmacist license
• Iowa temporary pharmacist license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience
• Comfortable working in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment
• Ability and willingness to travel between the assigned Iowa pharmacy locations
• Strong patient counseling, communication, and problem-solving skills
