NITELINES USA, INC is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a Coleman, Florida facility. The role requires dispensing, counseling, and monitoring medications for inmates while ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team in a controlled environment.

Candidates must hold an active Pharmacist license, pass a background check, and be able to adapt to a 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, with federal holiday considerations as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited school of higher education as a pharmacist and must have a current state license.
  • Submit evidence of examinations, education, internship and residency with proof of licensure to practice in any state.
  • Pass a drug screen and law enforcement background check.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with other healthcare professionals.
  • Adjudication of medication orders, dispensing, counseling and monitoring in accordance with guidelines.
  • Interpret prescriptions and enter orders into the pharmacy system, printing labels and selecting medications.
  • Inventory management, reporting low stock, and advising administration on ordering needs.
  • Educate inmates about medications and maintain HIPAA privacy and security of the pharmacy.

NEEDED: Pharmacist
LOCATION: Coleman, Florida 33521
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday (except federal holidays), 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Licensure Pharmacist: Is required to have graduated from an accredited school of higher education as a pharmacist and must have a current state license.
  • Must submit evidence of examinations, education, internship and residency to include specific degree with practical experience and must possess and produce proof of certification/licensor to practice in any state.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and law enforcement background check
JOB DUTIES:
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with other healthcare professionals.
  • Adjudication of the medication order, dispensing, counseling, educating (staff & patients), and monitoring the safe and appropriate use of medications while following BOP Clinical Practice Guidelines and the national formulary.
  • Interpret physician, dentist, and Mid-Level Practitioner prescription orders
  • Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy’s prescription computer system and print prescription labels
  • Select the correct medication and filling the prescription
  • Inventorying medications and supplies, recording items that are low in stocking levels, and advising the Chief Pharmacist or Health Services Administrator and/or Assistant Health Services Administrator of medications that need ordering
  • Interacting with inmates regarding their medications and providing patient education about the medication
  • Inventory sharps and syringes using logbooks as these must be documented prior to removal from the pharmacy
  • File reports pertaining to the pharmacy, including patient records
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • Always Maintain security of the pharmacy (no inmates are allowed in the pharmacy without a staff member present, keys must be secured at all times)
  • Maintain patient privacy by upholding HIPAA policies, including disposal of medication bottles and bags
  • Assist with maintaining sub-stock of medications and syringes in all Pyxis machines
  • Follow all National and Local BOP Policies and Procedures, as well as updates in BEMR
  • Notify administration of tardiness and/or absences, complete time sheets in a timely manner, and obtain a signature from an administrator prior to submission to agency for payment.
