Job summary

AvaMed Workforce requires a licensed pharmacist for a full-time assignment at the Coalinga, CA correctional facility. Location: Coalinga, CA. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (6 months) with orientation/training for 2 weeks. Rate:$65/hr, approx. $2,600/week.

The role involves reviewing and verifying prescription orders for completeness and legality, and ensuring proper dosage and drug interaction checks within the facility’s protocols.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Pharmacist license in the State of California from the Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify prescription/medication orders for completeness, correctness, authenticity and legality.
• Assess prescription/medication orders against patient’s medical profile for dosage accuracy, potential interactions and appropriateness.

AvaMed Workforce is a Healthcare Staffing Agency that staffs all of California State Correctional Facilities. At the moment we are in URGENTneed of a Pharmacist to take on a Full-Time assignment at the correctional facility located in Coalinga, CA.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Pharmacist-in-Charge and/or the Institution’s Chief Executive Officer/Chief Medical Executive designee, the Temporary/Relief PHARM shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice. The PHARM duties shall include, but are not limited to the following requirements:

• Review and verify prescription/medication order(s) from the Pharmacist-in-Charge,or other authorized prescribers for completeness, correctness, authenticity and legality;
• Assess prescription/medication order(s) against patient's/youth's medical profile for improper drug selection, under-dosage, dosage, over-dosage, drug interactions, dosage form and delivery system;
