Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Pharmacist specializing in Drug Utilization Review for a fully remote role. The ideal candidate holds a Pharm.D.

or B.S. in Pharmacy, is licensed in the employment state, and can work night shifts aligned with Pacific Time.

Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist in the state of employment.
  • Experience with Drug Utilization Review (DUR).
  • Knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice and medication safety principles.
  • Able to support a night shift aligned with Pacific Time.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state pharmacy laws.
  • Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Review medication orders for clinical appropriateness and potential interactions; make therapy recommendations as appropriate.
  • Support safe dispensing practices and resolve medication-related issues; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Pharmacy Automation Systems and automated dispensing/fulfillment systems.
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineering teams to optimize workflows and quality standards.
  • Dispense controlled substances and maintain regulatory compliance per DEA and state laws.
  • Maintain thorough records of controlled substance transactions and inventory.

Details
  • Location: Remote / Work from Home
  • Eligible States: Arizona, Texas, Indiana, New Hampshire, Florida, New York, and Washington state.
  • No. of Openings: 10 (5 openings for Sun-Wed & 5 openings for Wed-Sat)
  • Weekly hours: 40 hours
  • Pay Range: $60 - $70/hour

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.

Job Summary

This is a 100% remote position is responsible for reviewing medication orders for clinical appropriateness, identifying potential drug interactions, supporting safe dispensing practices, resolving medication-related issues, and maintaining compliance with applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive customer profiles including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies)
  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Make recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate
  • Operate and Troubleshoot Pharmacy Automation Systems
  • Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot automated dispensing and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Dispense Controlled Substances and Maintain Regulatory Compliance
  • Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and state-specific laws
  • Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting requirements
  • Answer clinical questions and provide guidance
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members
  • Document all healthcare team communications
  • Investigate and resolve medication errors
  • Implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Maintain required regulatory documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of employment.
  • Additional state pharmacy licenses may be required.
  • Experience with Drug Utilization Review (DUR).
  • Knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice and medication safety principles.
  • Must be able to support a night shift schedule aligned with the Pacific Time Zone.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service
