Capstone Health is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a travel assignment in Alturas, CA. The role involves reviewing prescriptions, dispensing medications, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards in a retail pharmacy setting.

The position requires an active California pharmacist license, a Pharm.D. or BS in Pharmacy, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar setting, with BLS certification and ongoing CEU participation.

Qualifications

Hold an active California pharmacist license and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Maintain current BLS certification and required continuing education.

Responsibilities

Compound and dispense prescribed medications, and review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriate ingredients.
Provide medication information and counseling on interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage when counseling is accepted.
Guide pharmacy personnel and support appropriate staffing ratios in accordance with applicable laws.
Maintain quality assurance, controlled-substance security, hazardous-drug disposal, inventory, and pharmacy records.
Address third-party prescription rejections and report medication errors promptly.
Collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, policies, and professional practices.

You'll oversee key retail pharmacy functions, from reviewing prescriptions and dispensing medications to maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Your work will help patients make informed decisions and support the smooth operation of pharmacy services.
