Placements24 is seeking a Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join its R&D division in a hybrid role. You will design, prepare, and characterize advanced formulations for oral, parenteral, and topical dosage forms, driving bioavailability and stability gains.

You will perform pre-formulation studies, assess drug solubility and compatibility, and apply analytical techniques such as particle size analysis and dissolution testing.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
• 5+ years in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Hands-on experience with multiple dosage forms (tablets, capsules, injectables).
• Experience with GLP/GMP environments and appropriate record-keeping.
• Strong communication and teamwork for hybrid work.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their innovative research and development division based in George . This role is central to the discovery and development of novel drug delivery systems and dosage forms. You will be responsible for designing, preparing, and characterizing various pharmaceutical formulations, contributing significantly to the pipeline of new therapeutic products. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new oral, parenteral, and topical pharmaceutical formulations, considering bioavailability and stability.
• Perform pre-formulation studies, including drug solubility, compatibility, and solid-state characterization.
• Characterize formulated products using techniques such as particle size analysis, dissolution testing, and microscopy.
• Prepare formulation batches for preclinical and clinical studies, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and optimize processes for scalability and manufacturing feasibility.
• Collaborate with analytical development and regulatory affairs teams to support product registration.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in pharmaceutical formulation development, with a strong understanding of drug delivery principles.
• Hands-on experience with various dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables) and associated manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques used for formulation characterization.
• Excellent record-keeping abilities and experience working in a GMP or GLP regulated environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration in a hybrid setting.
