Job summary

FST Technical Services, Inc. seeks experienced Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) and/or VT Inspectors for a pharmaceutical construction project in Springfield, Missouri. The assignment is approximately 90–120 days with all travel expenses covered and potential for continued employment after completion.

Inspectors will focus on visual inspection of welded process piping and sanitary/high-purity systems, with qualification steps following hire to achieve VT Level II status.

Qualifications

• Experience performing visual inspection of welded piping and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of weld fit-up, joint prep, alignment, and workmanship.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, drawings, specs.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and BPE requirements for process piping.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of process piping, sanitary/high-purity piping, welds, tubing, mechanical systems, and components.
• Evaluate welds and installations against project specs, drawings, procedures, codes, and acceptance criteria.
• Apply ASME, B31.3, and BPE requirements during inspection activities.
• Inspect weld fit-up, joint preparation, alignment, and weld profiles.
• Identify visible weld discontinuities and nonconforming installations.
• Review weld maps, logs, inspection reports, material docs, and QA/QC records.
• Document inspection results and verify corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors and QA/QC personnel.
