Job summary

MSD is seeking a Director, IPT Leader, Pharm Ops in Elkton, VA, to provide leadership and technical/operational expertise for the integrated process team. You will shape the future operating model for small molecule manufacturing, drive project readiness, governance, and performance standards.

In early phases, lead strategic planning and cross-functional coordination; later, assume full IPT leadership to ensure safe, compliant, reliable operations and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in pharma/biotech manufacturing.
• Experience leading teams with direct and indirect reports.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and quality systems.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead IPT and Site Leadership Team alignment with strategy.
• Define future operating model for Pharm Ops at Elkton, VA.
• Oversee ramp-up, readiness, governance, and performance standards.
• Drive safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Coach and develop IPT leaders and personnel.
