Position Overview

The Diabetes Sales Team leads the US sales efforts for Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic product portfolio, including therapies for diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular risk reduction. The role offers frontline exposure to our portfolio vision, business strategies, and market insights, driving the NNI portfolio strategy alongside marketing to ensure therapies reach those in need.

The Position

Responsible for achieving sales targets by implementing marketing and sales strategies to promote Novo Nordisk's products to healthcare professionals and office staff.

Relationships

Externally, maintains relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers. Internally, reports to the District Business Manager and collaborates with other field employees.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate competencies impacting the territory
  • Understand local payer markets and influence formulary status
  • Develop relationships with key healthcare decision-makers
  • Analyze market conditions and develop territory business plans
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and collaborate internally
  • Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model: Pre-Call Planning, Customer Engagement, Approach, Call to Action
  • Evaluate opportunities and coordinate with stakeholders
  • Manage samples, property, and budgets responsibly
  • Deep knowledge of disease states, clinical studies, and competitor products
Physical Requirements

Valid driver’s license and good standing in motor vehicle records.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Pharm D degree required
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel; experience with sales data software preferred
  • Self-starter with leadership and decision-making skills
  • Strong understanding of diabetes and products
