Job summary

AVS Bio is seeking an Animal Husbandry Technician in Preston, CT. The role involves maintaining animal health and welfare, producing quality product per SOPs, and upholding strict biosecurity measures.

Typical duties include daily animal care, cleaning, inoculations, and record-keeping in a regulated environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work in a team.
• Willingness to follow SOPs and biosecurity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform general animal husbandry and weekly test bleeds.
• Perform general cleaning, upkeep, and disinfecting of rooms.
• Recycle chicken houses following SOPs and USDA documents.
• Perform inoculations and harvests as scheduled.
• Prepare inoculum per SOP and OP instructions.
• Operate CO2 tanks, cart, power washer, lab equipment, and autoclave.
• Complete batch records and paperwork associated with tasks.
• Maintain biosecurity and sanitation standards.
• Communicate work-related information with Management.
