We are looking for a Front-End Developer (Shopify Expert) who is passionate about crafting stunning, high-converting eCommerce experiences from scratch.

Role Overview

As a Front-End Developer (Shopify Expert) at Pearl West, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing custom Shopify themes with a focus on performance, animations, interactivity, and user experience. This role requires hands-on expertise in Liquid, JavaScript, advanced CSS animations, and modern UI libraries to create visually stunning and conversion-driven storefronts.

This is a full-time, remote/hybrid/in-office position where you will collaborate with designers, marketers, and developers to bring exceptional eCommerce experiences to life.

Key Responsibilities

Custom Shopify Theme Development – Build and optimize Shopify themes from scratch using Liquid, JavaScript, and CSS for maximum performance and interactivity.
Advanced UI & Animations – Implement GSAP, ScrollMagic, CSS animations, and other interactive libraries to enhance user engagement.
Performance Optimization – Ensure all storefronts meet Google Core Web Vitals and maintain a 90+ PageSpeed score.
A/B Testing & CRO – Develop and execute front-end A/B tests to improve user experience and conversion rates.
Collaboration & Implementation – Work closely with designers and marketers to translate UI/UX mockups into pixel-perfect implementations.
Bug Fixing & Maintenance – Identify and resolve UI/UX issues within 24-48 hours while ensuring smooth performance across all browsers and devices.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Google Core Web Vitals – Maintain a 90+ PageSpeed score and ensure Shopify sites meet LCP, CLS, and FID benchmarks.
Conversion Rate Growth – Improve store conversion rates by 5-15% within 3-6 months.
Bug Resolution Time – Resolve UI/UX issues within 24-48 hours.
Pixel-Perfect Implementation – Ensure 99% adherence to design mockups.
A/B Testing Success – Implement and track 5-10 A/B tests per quarter to optimize UX/UI.

Success Benchmarks (30-60-90 Days)

First 30 Days

Complete onboarding and review Pearl West’s Shopify storefronts and brand guidelines.
Audit existing front-end implementations and propose performance and UI/UX enhancements.
Develop and deploy a small-scale custom UI feature to demonstrate expertise.

First 60 Days

Implement performance optimizations to improve site speed and mobile experience.
Develop a fully custom landing page or product page redesign using best front-end practices.
Collaborate with the design team to ensure brand consistency and high-quality UX.

First 90 Days

Successfully launch an A/B-tested front-end improvement that boosts conversions or engagement by 5-15%.
Establish a front-end component library for scalable design and development.
Conduct a post-launch UI/UX performance review and optimize based on analytics.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Skills:

Advanced Shopify Front-End Development – Expertise in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Animation & Interactive UI – Strong experience with CSS animations, GSAP, ScrollMagic, and other UI animation libraries.
Performance Optimization – Deep understanding of Google Core Web Vitals, Shopify site speed best practices, and SEO performance techniques.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) – Experience in A/B testing, heatmaps, and user behavior tracking to improve UX/UI.
JavaScript Frameworks (Preferred) – Experience with React, Vue.js, or Alpine.js for interactive Shopify components.
Mobile & Cross-Browser Compatibility – Ability to ensure pixel-perfect rendering on all devices and browsers.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with Shopify Plus and headless Shopify development.
