Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, FL seeks a dedicated Coordinator/Assistant for the Child Care Center to support the overall performance of the facility. You will assist the Coordinator and Director in guiding center operations and implementing programs, ensuring a safe, clean environment for children and families.

Responsibilities include on-call coverage during operating hours, maintaining confidentiality, reporting suspected abuse, and updating safety policies.

Qualifications

• AA degree in child development or early childhood education, or enrolled in a related program.
• 3 years job-related experience in childcare.
• Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.

• Assist the Director in supervising Child Care staff in all aspects of center operations.
• On Call during center hours; maintain confidentiality of staff, parents, and children.
• Report any suspicion or incidence of child abuse to the appropriate registry.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Evaluate and review new trends for safety, cleanliness, and age-appropriate programs.
• Assist in planning and implementing policies on injuries/illnesses/incidents.
• Meet staff monthly to share information on facility, duties and significant updates.
• Attend conferences to stay updated on child care safety policies and training.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Primary Purpose: Assist the Coordinator in guiding the overall performance of the child care center through strategic planning, evaluation of employees and implementation of programs.

Assist the Director in supervising Child Care staff in all aspects of center operations.

• Assist the Director in implementing a plan of action to ensure a safe and clean Child Care facility for members and their children.
• On Call during child care centers operation hours except on holidays when the center is closed. Respect confidentiality of staff, parents, and children.
• Report any suspicion or incidence of child abuse to Department of Children and Families Abuse Registry.
• Evaluate and recommend any changes necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Evaluate and review new trends that would be appropriate for facility in safety, cleanliness, age appropriate programs and child care safety.
• Assist the Director in planning, developing and implementing policies and procedures on injuries/illnesses/incidents which occur in the Child Care Center.

F Meets with staff on a monthly basis to dispense pertinent information in regards to facility, and job duties and any other significant information.

Attend conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date on new treads and policies in child care safety. Educate and train child care attendants on changes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Minimum: AA Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. Or currently enrolled in a program to obtain a degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or 3-5 years experience working in a childcare environment, classroom, daycare. Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification

Minimum: 3 years Job‑Related Experience

Preferred: 5 years Job‑Related Experience
