Job summary

Temple University Health System is seeking a PFT/Rehabilitation Technician in Philadelphia. The role entails conducting pulmonary function tests and rehabilitation exercises while requiring certifications in pulmonary function technology and basic life support. Qualifications

  • 1 Year of experience in pulmonary rehabilitation and/or pulmonary function testing required.
  • CPFT or RPFT certification required within 1 year of hire.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine pulmonary function testing including spirometry and exercise studies.
  • Conduct cardiopulmonary exercise testing and pulmonary rehabilitation sessions.
  • Ensure quality control and calibrate equipment.

Job description

The PFT/Rehabilitation Technician performs routine pulmonary function testing (Spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity, airway resistance, thoracic gas volume, respiratory muscle strength. Performs routine exercise studies such as O2 titration and 6-minute walk, resting energy expenditure. Performs cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Performs pulmonary rehabilitation diagnostic and therapeutic exercise to others. CPFT - Cert Pulmonary Function Tech or RPFT - Reg Pulmonary Function Tech required within 1 year of hire.

Education
Associates Degree : AMA approved school of respiratory care or pulmonary function technology (Required)

Experience
1 Year experience in pulmonary rehabilitation and/or pulmonary function testing (Required)
Experience in calibrating equipment, performing quality control procedures, and conducting a clinical exercise test (Preferred)

License/Certifications
CPFT - Cert Pulmonary Function Tech (Required) or CRT - Cert Respiratory Therapist (Required) or RPFT - Reg Pulmonary Function Tech (Required) or RRT - Reg Respiratory Therapist (Required)
BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
