As a Meat Cutter, you'll help provide a well-stocked and well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily, while maintaining all department and food safety / sanitation standards.

Work Responsibilities:

Production / Food Service:

• Cut, trim, bone meat for display or as ordered by Customer, according to company standards
• Operate electric grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, slicer
• Weigh, wrap, and label product packages for display; rotate product as needed
• Rotate product in meat cooler; ensure proper storage practices
• Use MCS technology to generate production list and track 're-works'
• Assist customers with product questions
• Scan items on Telxon for production
• Assist in technical areas as needed

Food Safety / Sanitation:

• Clean and sanitize display cases; operate and maintain equipment properly
• Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
• Follow department SOPs, store procedures, and federal/state regulations

Customer Service:

• Provide superior customer service
• Answer customer questions and assist with selections

Candidate Background:

• Minimum age 18
• 1+ years of related experience and/or training
• Completion of power jack training

Candidate Skills:

• Knowledge of product rotation, sanitation, shrink awareness, MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Meat-cutting skills (saw, grinder)
• Customer service and communication skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Function in a fast-paced environment, performing detailed tasks
• Work with customers attentively
• Lift and carry 40-60 lbs
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, push/pull frequently
• Exposure to moving parts, cold, chemicals, and sometimes wet/humid conditions
