A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PFAS to provide strategic leadership and technical guidance. The candidate will develop national strategies, work with regional leadership, and ensure project execution. Ideal individuals will have over 15 years in project management and considerable experience in business development related to PFAS and emerging contaminants. This is a fully remote position that allows for technical leadership across diverse projects.
We are seeking a dedicated Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance our team’s performance and knowledge in the field of PFAS. This (fully remote) PFAS Practice Lead will be responsible for setting strategic goals, establishing project standards, and offering technical guidance to project teams. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in PFAS, with a deep understanding of the latest industry trends and developments. The role of a Subject Matter Expert involves sharing technical insights and providing direction to achieve the team’s objectives effectively.

Experience:
>5 years of related business development experience,
>15 years of professional and project management experience in consulting engineering firm.
•Professional registration preferred
•Advanced degree in Engineering or Science preferred
•Experience meeting operational and sales goals.
•Proven Business Development experience with PFAS and emerging contaminants in a design consulting firm
•Leadership position in a water or remediation-related technical association
•Strategic planning experience
•Extensive knowledge of regulations and treatment of PFAS in water, wastewater, groundwater, sediments, and soil
•Business acumen related to project and company financials and risk management
•Understanding of sales pipeline health, backlog, book-to-burn
Domestic travel may be required – up to 25% predominately for client meetings.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
Background Check (if applicable): If this position requires a CAC card, CUI Enclave Access and/or a Security Clearance, a background check will be completed.
Education & Experience:
B.S. degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field required.

Work will primarily take place in an office environment; however, a variety of work environments may be encountered. Travel may require working outdoors for brief periods where a variety of weather conditions can occur. Anticipated travel approximately 25% of work time. Attend conferences, meetings and events to promote PFAS capabilities through presentations and direct discussions with clients.
Language & Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
Mathematical Skills: requisite math skills to perform the essential duties of the job.
