Job summary

The University of Maine System seeks a PFAS Data Manager to oversee the analysis and curation of PFAS research data within a Center of Excellence. This role will consult with researchers on data analysis, structure, and workflows, and will establish and maintain data curation guidance.

The position is soft-money funded and offers a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in data science or closely related discipline with 3+ years of experience in research data management or a similar position.
• Proficiency in one or more programming and data analysis languages used for scientific data manipulation.
• Demonstrated experience managing, integrating, validating, and analyzing complex scientific or research datasets in HPC or cloud computing settings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially with data quality and integration issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to researchers.

Responsibilities

• Consult with researchers across the project to support data analysis needs, including data structure and workflows.
• Establish, share, and maintain guidance for data curation created through the Center of Excellence.
• Oversee analysis and curation of PFAS research data and support long-term preservation.
