Job summary

Sunoco LP in Altoona, PA is seeking a Terminal Operator to operate terminal equipment for receiving, storing, transferring, and loading refined petroleum products in a safe, compliant manner.

You will gauge storage tanks, take meter readings, enter inventories, reconcile throughputs, load trucks, collect samples, perform basic maintenance, and ensure equipment functions while coordinating with supervision and emergency response when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong mathematical calculation ability.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Team player with attention to detail.
• Willing to be on-call / shift hold over.

Responsibilities

• Gauge storage tanks and record meter readings daily.
• Provide top-tier customer service to commercial/operations reps.
• Input inventories and meter readings into systems.
• Perform daily and monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Maintain facilities and perform safety-related tasks.
• Safely load petroleum products onto trucks.
• Travel to facilities as needed to assist terminals.
• Take product samples and perform quality tests.
• Issue work permits and enforce safety rules.
• Monitor equipment and report failures.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and housekeeping.
• Coordinate emergency response activities.
• Communicate outages and downtime promptly.
