Job summary

SGS North America Inc. seeks a Laboratory Analyst to perform hands-on analysis of crude oil, fuels and petrochemicals, ensuring accurate reporting.

You will operate the Gas Chromatograph and other lab equipment, uphold safety standards, and guide laboratory technicians to maintain training. A Bachelor’s in Chemistry and TWIC are preferred, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related science, preferred; with at least 1 year of direct lab experience.
• TWIC required.
• Knowledgeable in ASTM standards.
• Must be able to work with all chemical, petrochemical and petroleum products.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and work under pressure with high accuracy.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail; able to balance multiple projects with different deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis hands-on.
• Understand and keep current with all laboratory safety and reporting techniques.
• Provide guidance to Laboratory Technicians to maintain training and supervision as needed.
• Understand and keep current with laboratory analysis methods.
• Operate Gas Chromatograph and other laboratory equipment.
• Be dependable and contribute to the department's success.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
