Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to perform analysis and reporting on crude oil, fuels, and petrochemicals. The role requires hands-on bench work and the operation of the Gas Chromatograph and other lab equipment, with focus on data accuracy and compliance with ASTM standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science and at least one year of lab experience, plus a valid driver's license and TWIC credential to access ports and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science; at least one year of lab experience.
• Valid Drivers License (Required).
• TWIC (Required).
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and lab safety procedures.
• Ability to work with chemical, petrochemical and petroleum products.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis on crude oil, fuels, middle distillates, and related products.
• Operate Gas Chromatograph and other laboratory instruments.
• Maintain laboratory safety and reporting techniques; ensure data accuracy.
• Provide guidance to Laboratory Technicians and may supervise staff.
• Understand and keep current with all laboratory analysis methods.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
