Position Overview

The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) helps children by supporting parents in providing for their well-being, health, and stability. OCSS serves all parents and guardians, regardless of income or immigration status, collecting over $700 million annually on their behalf.

The DSS Court Services (DSS CS) division processes cases from OCSS Borough Offices and Enforcement division, working with legal and court entities to file child support petitions, manage hearings, and process post-hearing actions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Under supervision, DSS Court Services Supervisors oversee staff responsible for court-related child support processes, including petition filing, scheduling hearings, summons processing, and quality assurance. They coordinate workflows citywide and monitor case processing quality.

Position Details
  • Monitor summons service contracts and oversee billing reconciliation.
  • Manage service requests within the U.S. and internationally, ensuring timely and accurate petition generation and processing.
  • Oversee staff work assignments using the UCMS system across all NYC boroughs.
  • Prepare and analyze statistical reports to evaluate performance and inform decisions.
  • Coordinate service affidavits, subpoenas, and court documentation.
  • Conduct staff meetings and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Act as liaison with various agency and external partners.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Work Details
  • Location: 60 Lafayette Street, 7th Floor, NY
  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Position: Principal Administrative Associate II
Minimum Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree and three years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, OR
  • Associate degree and four years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, OR
  • High school diploma and five years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, OR
  • Equivalent education/experience with one year of supervisory experience.
Additional Information
  • Open to candidates under the 55-a Program with appropriate indication on application.
  • Eligible for federal and state loan forgiveness programs.
  • NYC residency required within 90 days, with exceptions for certain city employees.

Salary Range

$59,715.00 – $68,672.00
