Job Description

The Peter B's Bartenders are responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to all health regulations and local liquor laws. Ensures exceptional guest service and creates an inviting atmosphere. Follows Portola Hotel and Spa's brand standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Serve drinks to guests following standard recipes, policies, and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service, positively impacting the guest experience.
• Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude towards guests and staff.
• Recommend dishes, identify ingredients, and explain menu preparations.
• Complete accurate opening and closing inventory of products.
• Ensure equipment is operable and clean.
• Arrange bottles to create attractive displays behind the bar.
• Check guest IDs to verify alcohol purchase age requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar and lobby tables using sanitation procedures.
• Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and take appropriate action.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards.
• Calculate meal costs, present checks, accept payments, and give change.
• Adhere to company standards of conduct.
• Maintain food and beverage knowledge and communicate effectively with guests.
