We have an excellent opportunity available now for a full-time Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Technologist!

At Huntington Hill Imaging Center (managed by California Medical Business Services), our team members focus on transforming the patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care. Our organization has rapidly grown over the past years by providing radiology service line solutions, outpatient center management services, and many business solutions for quality patient care.

Our Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures and put patients at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET images/studies possible, enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence.

ThisPET Technologistposition has a variedschedule and is located at our ImagingCenterinPasadena!

Each shift will be 8 hours long and the hours will be:

• Monday - Friday: variable between 8am-5pm and 10am-7pm
• Saturday rotation (2/month)

Pay Range:

$55/hour - $80/hour

What You Will Do:

• Performs Positron Emission Tomography (PET) radiographic examinations according to accepted department protocols, policy and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care to assigned patient population, and participates in related continuing education.
• Communicate procedures to patients with a caring attitude and keen attention to detail,
• Ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the exam.
• Use technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET images/studies possible - enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence.
• Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologists and/or PC's
• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
• Keeps hot lab neat, orderly, and in compliance.
• Completes paperwork and billing functions.
• Follows policies concerning quality assurance.
• Satisfactorily meets work performance expectations as stated in the policy personnel, technologist evaluation.
• Assists office staff with scheduling patients and preparing and maintaining patient records.
• Maintains the appropriate amount of continuing medical education units set forth by the ARRT.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Keeps PET suite clean, stocked and prepared for all procedures.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required
• CT license/certification (preferred)
• State license, as required
• CPR certification required1-2 years PET imaging experience or 1-2 years experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies required
• 1-2 years as a CT technologist (preferred)
• Local travel may be required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patient care and imaging procedures.
• Ability to assist patients with positioning and safely transfer or reposition patients onto and off the PET/CT examination table, including patients with limited mobility.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and maneuver equipment as necessary to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to safely handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established radiation-safety procedures.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and radiation-monitoring devices.
• Ability to respond promptly and safely to patient-care needs, including assisting patients who may become weak, unsteady, or require physical support.
• Ability to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
