Job summary

Scheels in Fargo, ND is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to provide an exceptional customer experience, advise on products, promote the Scheels Visa, and maintain accurate displays.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience. A flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays; benefits include ESOP, 401(k) with Roth, health coverage, and employee discounts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers and guiding them through the sale and Scheels Visa promotion.
• Maintain expert-level product knowledge and lead product knowledge training for other associates.
• Meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering high-quality customer experiences.
• Manage inventory by running and analyzing Internal Flash Reports.
• Maintain an organized backstock and ensure merchandise is displayed and replenished on the sales floor.
• Ensure products are correctly displayed with price tagging, sales stickers, and signage.
• Communicate professionally with store colleagues, Scheels Campus, and Vendors/Sales Representatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform basic math and understand currency, measurements, and percentages.
• Be flexible with hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
• Maintain expert-level knowledge in all selling areas, as well as lead product knowledge training for other associates
• Consistently meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering a high-quality customer experience
• Manage inventory by running and analyzing Internal Flash Reports
• Effectively maintain an organized backstock while ensuring merchandise is properly displayed and replenished on the sales floor
• Ensures their product is accurately displayed to customers through price tagging, sales stickers, and signage
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented atmosphere
• Communicate professionally with other associates within the store, the Scheels Campus, and Vendors/Sales Representatives
• Ensures their work area is clean, organized, and meets safety standards
• Ability to perform basic math; perform operations using units of currency, measurements, and understand percentages
• Ability to work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Including product knowledge meetings

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work –

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
