Job summary

Scheels in Fargo, ND is hiring a Retail Sales Associate to deliver a WOW customer experience and drive sales. You will maintain product knowledge and assist in training, ensuring accurate displays and organized backstock. This role supports the store team with inventory management and exceptional service.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience; candidates should be able to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends. ESOP benefits apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and engage with customers to determine needs, promoting Scheels Visa Card.
  • Maintain expert-level product knowledge and lead product knowledge training for other associates.
  • Consistently meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
  • Manage inventory by running and analyzing Internal Flash Reports.
  • Effectively maintain an organized backstock while ensuring merchandise is displayed and replenished on the sales floor.
  • Ensure product displays are accurate through price tagging, sales stickers, and signage.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Communicate professionally with other associates, the Scheels Campus, and Vendors/Sales Representatives.
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized and safe.
  • Ability to perform basic math; operations using currency, measurements and percentages.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule; evenings, weekends and holidays, including product knowledge meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge in all selling areas, as well as lead product knowledge training for other associates
  • Consistently meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering a high-quality customer experience
  • Manage inventory by running and analyzing Internal Flash Reports

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work –

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
