Wedgewood Pharmacy in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Medication Mixing Technician to support prescription preparation, stock management, and data entry. You will work under the pharmacist to maintain accuracy and a clean, compliant production environment.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, following proper batch instructions, and collaboration with a team focused on animal health and patient care, with onsite schedule Monday–Friday and a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, or compounding preferred.
• Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
• Ability to follow formulas, procedures, and batch instructions.
• Comfort working with chemicals used in compounding.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to stay focused in a production environment.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand in a lab/production setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements.
• Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist.
• Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security.
• Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
• Enters data into the computer system, recording prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
• Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal.
• Performs general clerical duties for the department.
