Job summary

Petco is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide expert-level grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and nail trimming for our clients' pets.

You will work with a range of grooming tools and engage pet parents with professional, caring service. Weekend, evenings and holiday availability is required to fit grooming schedules. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Latitude for independent judgement and problem solving in grooming scenarios.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high grooming standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments (clippers, blades, shears, brushes, dryers).
• Prioritize safety and well-being of each animal and report concerns to owners or management.
• Assess coat type, skin conditions and temperament to tailor grooming.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and offer grooming recommendations.
• Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at-home care.
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and sanitize tools per policy.
• Train or supervise entry-level trainees when needed.
