Shampoodles Pet Grooming in New York is seeking a Groomers Assistant/Bather to support our grooming team. You will help prepare pets for grooming, bathe, dry, brush, and assist with dematting while keeping animals comfortable and safe.

This energetic, in-person role emphasizes teamwork, excellent customer service with clients, and a willingness to learn new techniques. Lifting and standing for long periods are required in a fast-paced salon.

Qualifications

• Prior grooming or pet handling experience is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of animal care and handling safety.
• Ability to lift and stand for long periods.
• Excellent client communication and compassion for animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist groomers by handling pets during bathing, drying, and grooming.
• Safely bathe and dry animals, keeping them comfortable.
• Support with animal restraint to ensure safety.
• Monitor animals for distress or health concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools, tubs, kennels, and work areas.
• Provide customer service by discussing pets' needs with owners.
• Handle pet sitting duties as needed.
