Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. seeks a Pet Stylist to provide professional grooming services for our valued customers and their pets.

You will perform bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, and nail care while ensuring safety and comfort. You will interact with pet parents, offer maintenance tips, and maintain a clean grooming area.

The role offers a team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth and skill development, including leadership and mentoring tracks.

Qualifications

• Pet Stylist Apprentice program completed with Petco or professional grooming training.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to solve problems independently with grooming knowledge.
• Strong communication skills with pet parents and team members.
• Comfort handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, and styling.
• Operate grooming tools and maintain equipment.
• Prioritize safety, comfort, and well-being of pets.
• Assess coat type, skin conditions, and temperament for grooming.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and offer grooming recommendations.
• Educate owners on at-home grooming and care.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the grooming area.
• Follow Petco policies and grooming standards.
• Assist and supervise trainees when needed.
